AC for Residential

Properly sized home cooling, installed neatly and serviced by people who answer the phone.

A home air conditioner is a purchase people are usually happy to make once and then never think about again. That only works if it is the right size for the room, installed properly, and still serviceable several years later.

We install for apartment owners, individual homes, apartment associations and builders. Most of our residential work is in Kochi, Ernakulam and the nearby towns, and most of it arrives through a customer telling a neighbour.

Types

Choosing the right type of home AC

Six common residential formats. If you are unsure which one fits your room, let us survey it.

Wall Mounted Split

The default choice for bedrooms and living rooms. Inverter driven, so power draw drops once the room reaches temperature.

0.75 - 2.0 TR

Cassette AC

One or four-way ceiling cassettes that blow air in all directions. Good for high ceilings and open-plan rooms.

1.0 - 5.0 TR

Ducted AC

Fully hidden in the false ceiling with grille outlets. Nothing visible on the wall.

1.0 - 6.0 TR

Floor Standing

A slim vertical unit that fits beside a room with no ceiling void or no outdoor wall space.

2.0 - 5.0 TR

Console AC

Slim console profile designed to sit in tight spaces without blocking the room.

0.8 - 1.5 TR

Window & Portable

Straightforward single-room cooling where a split is not worth the cost.

0.75 - 1.0 TR
Getting it right

Five things that decide whether a home AC works

Most complaints we are called out to fix were caused by one of these at install time.

  • Match the room, not the room size on paper — Sun-facing west rooms, high ceilings and rooms with three or more people need more capacity than the floor area alone suggests.
  • Check the outdoor unit position first — A bedroom with no accessible external wall for the outdoor unit is often better served by a ducted or floor-standing option.
  • Do not undersize to save money — A unit that is too small runs continuously, holds temperature poorly and fails earlier. Running a smaller unit flat out costs more electricity than a correctly sized one.
  • Insulation pays for itself — Window film, proper sealing and a shaded outdoor unit location often cut the running cost more than moving up one model.
  • Plan the drainage and the pipe route — Refrigerant pipe, condensate drain and cable should be planned into the wall or ceiling, not added afterwards across a finished room.

FAQ

Residential AC questions

Common questions about home installations, warranties and running costs.

No. An oversized unit reaches temperature quickly, then short-cycles on and off, which makes the room feel drafty, wastes electricity and wears the compressor out faster. A correctly sized unit runs longer and steadier at full output.

A single wall-mounted split in a straightforward bedroom is usually a few hours. Ducted work, cassette work or anything needing false ceiling coordination takes longer. We will tell you the expected duration in the quotation.

Yes. If you are shifting to a new apartment or changing the room layout, we can remove, evacuate the refrigerant, shift and recommission the unit.

For a typical home split, cleaning the filters every one to two months and a professional service once a year is sensible. Homes in coastal or dusty locations may need it more often.

Both. We are happy to install customer-supplied equipment, and we will tell you honestly if a unit you have bought is a poor fit for the room rather than taking the job anyway.
